My trackball explorer is no longer recoginized running XP
Home and Intellimouse 4.1. Trackball Explorer still
functions as standard 2 button mouse along with mouse
wheel. Without Intellimouse functions the additional 2
buttons are not accessible.
I have unistalled old version of intellimouse, and
reinstalled latest Intellimouse 4.1 on MS site. When
bringing up mouse control panel. I can not see or set
connected device to "Trackball Explorer". The only mouse
shown is standard 2 button mouse.
Clicking on any button within mouse control panel results
in the following error message contained in a dialog
window:
RUNDLL
An exception occured while trying to
run "shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL
C:\WINDOWS\System32\main.cpl",Mouse"
As suggested in MS technical literature online I have
started in safe mode and removed all mouse related devices
and then reinstalled intellimouse 4.1.
Still same problem.
Several posts to newsgroups indicated a fix for this was
to run either
"sfc \scanonce" and sfc "\scannow" to resolve. Still same
problem.
Anyone have any ideas on what to do to fix?
regards,
BP
