That's our problem: Sharing Printers on MS Network with Win98 stations.

We have an HP LaserJet 2100 PCL6 printer on our new XP system, with File
and Printer sharing enabled.

In Control Panel, we have right-clicked the printer, selected Share Tab,
Enabled Share, given a Share Name, made certain that Win98 & WinXP
drivers are installed and shown checked.

But no other net PC can access the XP PC's printer.

Advice?

Well, we are still figuring out some networking details, and are now
excited that we finally got the Dell to share its printers with the
other PC's on the home network:

We installed additional accessory software, Management Console or
similar, from the WinXP CD-ROM.

Did Windows Start ... Run ..
gpedit.msc /gpcomputer:"OHA7",
tried some edits of options on Printer publishing (printer names to the
network) & sharing.

Next day we reinstalled the printers on the host, print-serving Dell
8300, with additional drivers for the Win 98 PC's. Then we went to the
individual PC and reinstalled the print-server's printers as Network
Printers (as before), but this time the installations were successful!.
