HP 7350 printer installation

I am trying to install a HP 7350 on a HP Pavillion running XP Home.
Software installs fine until you get to the part where you plug in the USB
cable. I keep getting installation errors saying the required file could
not be found. Went to HP website and found a patch that was supposed to
fix this "known problem". Still no go. Also tried to install using
hardware wizard in XP but still won't work.

You would think that HP would at least insure that their printers work with
their computers. Anybody who has a 7350 working and can give me some
advice I would appreciate it. Otherwise it's back to Best Buy for the 7350
and I'll stick with my laser on LPT1.

Before you take it back, try this.Disconnect the printer, shutdown,
reconnect the printer and see if Windows recognizes it. I've had success
installing USB devices this way.

This isn't an XP problem. I have a 7350 and it works fine. XP
detected it during install and set it up just fine.
