windows messenger kept exiting

hi, any help on this will appreciated.
here's the problem. I uprade windows messenger from
version 4.6 to 4.7. I can log on windows messenger fine.
From what I heard and know, windows messenger is not
suppose to exit when you click the close ('X') button but
it does. It signs me off automatically and stops the
software from running automatically when I hit the close
button. I don't even see the icon ont he task bar if I hit
the close button. It works fine if I don't hit the close
button and just minimize the messenger. Please help

To solve this, open Windows Messenger (click Start, then Run, type "msmsgs" and click OK),
click Tools, Options, Preferences tab and make sure that 'Allow this program to run in the
background' is checked. After this, you may need to restart Windows Messenger and the 'X'
button should work as it should.
