In win me noel reccomended about 200 mb of space for
normal with 400mb during heavy install or uninstall
operations. How much is needed in xp pro for normal
use? Also I notice that some of the posts run far over
the space in the message window how do you set it to be
sure you dont wraparound and have to scroll laterally to
read the messages? thanks

Hi,

The wrapping or the lack of is due to the encoding used by the poster, there
is nothing you can do about that.

For System Restore in WinXP, it depends on how many restore points you want,
and how much space your system takes. The default, or maximum, is 12% of the
drive space. To me, that's quite a bit, but it allows for a large number of
restore points. I prefer to use only 2% (or 200MB in my case) which gives me
5 restore points.

You will need to experiment some to see what works best for you.
