Doug is right.
But there are some limitations to XP Compress.
I use WINZIP

http://www.winzip.com/
You can download a trial version of 8.1 - unlike
other "Trial Versions" WINZIP seems to run forever.
I find it so useful that I've have paid for three
registered copies - over the years - not out of guilt -
but because it works and I want them to stay in
buisness....makeing it better.

Enough praise - I'm afraid you will be disappointed in the
file size reduction of a PPT file using XP Compress or
Winzip - typcially I get a 10% reduction in size. -
PowerPoint has done a good job in reducing it's output
file sizes - but we continue to add more and more
graphics, sounds, animations, and navigational aide to the
output files....something has to give.

My distribution solution has been thru FTP sites and CD's
via Snail mail.
