I've been away for 6 weeks, came back and my computer has
a virus that means the computer keeps on shutting down.
I'm not sure if it's this 'Blaster' thing. Anyway-I can't
get patches and the like because it won't stay up long
enough to do it.

How do I fix the problem? Do I have to wipe everything off
and start again? I'm not sure how you do that!

Do I phone microsoft??

Can anyone help a computer user who's pretty much at the
very edges of his knowledge base!!

Thanks

Paul

From teh RUN dialog, type in "shutdown -a". THis should keep your machine
from rebooting. Then get online and goto
http://www.microsoft.com/security/incident/blast.asp and follow the
directions to get rid of the virus and recommendations on how to keep you
computer bug free.

good luck!
