The program I'm using to backup my files wants me to
format the CD-RW's before it will let me continue. How
do I do that? Anyone!!!
Thanks in advance.

It seems as though the program is expecting to "packet write" to the CD-RW.
I would have thought that the program would haver had a means to format the
disk if that was the case. However, you can format the disk for packet
writing using programs like Ahead InCd. Before you do that I suggest you
check with the backup program authors to find out if that is their
intention.

If you value your data, DO NOT use cdrw's for backup..Very un-reliable..Go with cdr's or get yourself a external hard drive..

=46or that you need to be using some third party 'packet writing' UDF
software. The inbuilt burning does not provide for it. Read up at

Hi All,
I'm using Roxio Disk Copier V 5.2.0.56. Disk COPIER.
I'm not using it to backup my system, I've tried that, and yes it crap.
I'm just confused about the maths that Bill Gates use, Would it be reverse
Polish? Whatever calculation he uses he still can't count.
The actual error message is
"You need 477.8MB of temp space to back up the track (in this case It's an
audio CD). Your temp directory has 4095.9MB of usable space. Please make
more temp space available"

Doesn't really matter if it's Windows or Roxio's math that is off.
Complaints from programs about not enough temp space usually means there
are stray files laying around in the temp folder that it just can't deal
with. Try deleting the contents of that folder and then give your disk
copying a whirl.
Also, DirectCD software usually formats CDRWs on the fly. Check to see
if Disk Copier needs the formatting done before it can start the floppy.
It may be expecting the CDRW to be ready to go right from the start.
