cannot find word or excel

I can't seem to locate Word or Excel on my computer at
all! Do these programs normally come with Windows XP?
Or do I need to download them? Where can I find the
downloads? I don't seem to have these programs at all,
so an update download will not help

Hello

Those programs do not come with Win XP, and they are
seperate ok. You will have to go to your local BestBuy, OfficeMax
or you can purcahse the MS Office XP Suite online ok. Also
you can not download that software you have to go out and
purcahse it.

You will find OFFICE and individual versions of the OFFICE
programs, WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint and Access at your nearest
office/computer store.
Applications are NOT part of Windows, any version. You
cannot download legal copies of MS software, you must buy a
CD and the install it. Then you can get update downloads
and patches.

Did Windows 95 come with Office 95, or Windows 2000 with Office 2000 - no?
Then why on earth should Windows XP come with Office XP? Of course you don't
have them - you haven't bought and installed them! You can't update
applications you don't have!
