View Full Version : Reloading Windows XP onto a new hard disk

i agree that the hdd is nmaking noise but data in hdd is
good and running fine do the following easiest way.
1) start > run >type ntbackup.exe
2) click on advance mode in the wizard.
3) after advanced mode comes up.
select ASR (Automated System Recovery)
Important step....
4) now take backup of hdd in to seperate location .
5) after the process of backup is completed .
6) insert a blank floopy to store ASR information.
that's it to run the system recovery boot from dos mode to
re-run windows xp setup press F2 during setup ...
your system will be recovered

but the issue cna also be done with norton ghost 2003 or
any version but where you will store the image of the
disk .
it would be better that you attach the new disk as slave.
slave means below primary harddisk . the take the image of
harddisk to this new disk (store the image in the new disk)

also power quest drive image would do
also windows xp ASR would work in this matter.
