When ever I open my email messages a web named symantec,
shows scanning messages and trying or sending so many
mails through my internet. They pick up addresses from my
folder. I am afraid this is misusing my mail ID or make
use of my system. This causing much delay and
inturrupting my activities in the network. Please help?

Not sure what you mean. You have Norton Antivirus and it's set to scan mail?
If so, this is a good thing. Keep your antivirus software updated - run Live
Update at *least* once a week.

Re "picking up addresses" - please provide more detail.

Hi Mathew,

I guess you are talking about the auto-scan feature of Norton (Symantec).

If that is so, there is nothing to fear about as it scans all the e-mails
and the attachments for virus' and makes sure that the system is not
infected.

However, if for some reason you want to disable it, you can do so by
accessing the application from the the system tray (near the clock).

For more information regarding the application (Norton), you could touch
base with Symantec. (http://www.symantec.com/index.htm)

Please do revert back in case you have any difficulty.
