It shouldn't matter which CD Rom you put the CD in; the
computer checks both for a bootup CD. Go to the Bios and
set each setting to auto for the screen with basic
settings for seeing the hard disk, CD Rom, Floppy etc and
then check that the boot order is CD and Hard Disk. Also
check that the memory is set to auto and not to a speed
setting too high for it to function error free. Check on
bootup that the CD Roms and Hard disk are correctly
recognised. Check that the CD Roms are set to master and
slave and that the data cables to the CD Roms are properly
connected. You may have a bent pin or data cable not
pushed all the way in which would cause the CD Rom to not
read the CD. It is also possible that the Windows XP disk
is damaged otherwise it should allow you to reinstall
Windows.
