I've got an AMD Duron 900mhz, with 512mb ram.
It has one hard drive which is a maxtor 60gig model 6Y060P0.

After about 15 minutes or defraging my hard drive, windows xp freezes. No
keyboard, mouse response, I need to press the reset button. This behaviour
happens when saving a large file as well. It appears that the freezing will
occure when the hard drive is reading/writing intensly for a period of time,
usually 5 to 15 minutes.

XP worked wonderfully on my fujitsy 40gig until it died. I then bought the
60gig, installed XP and all the updates. After all the updates XP was
freezing randomly until I got a tip and uninstalled the windows update
811493. Since then windows has been performing wonderfully except during
intense hard drive operations. Please help.
