My dell inspiron 8200 with Windows XP Professional has
worked just perfectly for 9 months UNTIL last week when I
downloaded all the Microsoft updates and installed McAfee
personal firewall and virus scan.
Problem: When accessing Adobe photoshop, Camedia,
attempting to print a .pdf file or print from a Web based
Java app I get bsod Page_fault_in_non_paged_area
referencing file ati3d2ag.dll - also sometimes it errors
with win32k.sys and the system locks- must
remove power to reboot.
I researched this and heard on the Dell recording that if
you have this error to go to McAfee about it - so I do.
I find on their website how to adjust a few Internet
security settings in IE. Most of the problems go away.
But still get same problem trying to print from Web based
Java app - error is still the page-non-page, etc
referencing win32k.sys and a STOP 0x00000050
(0xE141230E, 0x00000000, 0xBF8DF65E, 0x00000001)
win32k.sys_Address Bf8DF65E base at BF800000, Date Stamp
3db6d462
Took out all of McAfee products - no resolution.
Spent 1 1/2 hours with a Dell hardware guy that had me up
some RAM setting to 1024 to overcome 'page' errors
and after that I couldn't connect to Internet to even
test it. I was able to fix that-no help from him- and
get back online but problem has still not changed.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.
