My drive was corrupted trying to get this thing to work.
I had to do a system restore, lost everything since my
dumb ass did not back up my files, which, come to find
out, I can't get that to work either, and I cannot get
support from Microsoft even though I have 90 days support
with this product.
PLEASE HELP!

What help do you want, what is your exact problem? What
hardware and what software media (CDS) do you have?

A system restore should not cause any data loss, unless you
mean you ran a "restore disk" such as provided by HP/Compaq
and formatted and reinstalled all the original conditions.

Which model optical mouse do you have? How was the drive
corrupted?

>Okay, I did the restore. I am freaking out because I
cannot get my stuff saved to a disk so that I can attempt
to re-install the mouse. I have the Microsoft TrackBall
Optical & I am running XP-home. When I tried to install
the mouse software, the device was never recognized even
when I searched for new hardware. At that point, I had to
use the keyboard because the old mouse was unplugged &
the new one was not recognized. After restarting my
computer again, nothing worked (keyboard or mouse). I
took my tower to Best Buy & they told me that the device
was corrupted & to restore. Not even thinking about
losing everything.

Can you point me in the right direction getting the mouse
installed? You might even be able to help me figure out
why I cannot save files to the cd.
