Audio Device

I have upgraded from 98 to xp. I have a Via AC97 audio
device on my motherboard and a Cmedia PCI sound card. XP
recognises both devices and loads the updated drivers, but
when I go into sound and Audio it says I have no devices.
The properties say that the driver is enabled but not
started. I have removed the drivers in safe mode and
disabled the onboard sound in the bios and reloaded the
pci card drivers but still the same problem. The gameport
of the pci card works and when I run dxdiag I can play
music but the sound option says there are no audio
devices. Help!!!!

Have you disabled the onboard sound facility in your pc BIOS?
