error code 28

i just updated windows xp and all of a sudden my ECS card
reader had an error. it was ok before i downloaded the
updates. after rebooting the computer when the download was
complete, i checked my device manager and noticed that my
card reader has an error. first was error code 10, so i
tried to remove then reinstall the driver for the card
reader and gave me another error which was error code 28. i
already removed the reader on device manager and reboot my
pc but when xp detects the new hardware and installs it,
still same error. please help...
