"save as" no longer functional

Hello all.

when I download an mpeg video clip from internet,
the "save as" tab is not functional.I've downloaded
macromedia flash and shockwave, and quicktime since it
last worked. Could these programs have anything to do with
my problem ?. please help to re-instal "save as"
function.by the way, i'm using an old version of media
player.
