View Full Version : My Computer

My daughter using and OEM of MS xp had renamed her "My Computer" icon and
then unknown how to her somehow deleted the renamed "My Computer" icon
altogether. I tried a search of her HD and nowhere is it to be found using
either name. No restore point was made so that option is out of the
question. Anyone have an idea (or fix) on how I can restore her "My
Computer"? Thanks in advance to all who respond.

another way is to right click on your desktop, go to properties then desktop, customise desktop and on the general tab it should say 'desktop icons' with the default icons ie; my computer, my documents, my network places and internet explorer.

Right click in unoccupied Desktop, take Properties. On the Desktop
page, click 'Customise Desktop'; then check the My Computer box and
Apply.

That will put it back on the desktop - r-click and Rename if desired
