plz solve my problem

hello
i have 56k mdcv.92 modem
and the problem is that my modem not connects on first
time
when i connect it first time he says that remote computer
didnot answerd
i dont know which is he remote computer
second i again connect
after doing 4 5 times it connects
very hardliy
and it connects at very low speed
at some 19kbps
or 22kbps
at start when i had buy this modem it connects at first
time and with 49kbps speed
plz solve my problem and answer me how to connect first
time and with good speed

Funny how poeple think speed has anything to do with
someone ISP. Do we think the ISP replaced there faster
modems with slower ones? Sorry just think that poeple
should look at what is used to make the connection and
what might have changed over time. Slow connections are
line qualtiy. Lots of poeple see slow performance after
bad weather (rain) wet wires create static in the line and
the signal is not able to travel as fast through the
static.

When a dailup becomes slow one show call there local phone
company and ask for a Line Check....
