Hi, just wondering can i partition my hard disk. ntfs
with plenty of free space,if so (HOW). many thanks.

hi gary you can do it with (in xp) start,,control panel,,administrative tools,,computer management,,disk management,, you will then see a copy of the disk in a graph. This will show you all of the physical disk space and how it is partitioned. Look on th
e internet for more information on partitioning and you will find what you need. I am having an issue at the moment through bad planning. Make sure you understand what you are doing first before you do it. Some say there is no going back. There is but
it is hard, very hard and I have learnt the hard way about this a few times.

For an alternative to the gui in xp use fdisk or cfdisk, they are what I used. fdisk which come with windows isnt as good. Download a linux fdisk or cfdisk they are a lot more versatile.

If you want to repartition your drive and you do not want to lose data that
is currently on it you will need a third party tool like BootIt NG. You can
find that here http://www.terabyteunlimited.com/

If you are starting fresh you can use the XP CD but this will wipe out data
on your drive. Checker here for How To Partition
