I have a problem I can't find an answer for........I'm
not real knowledgeable of computers, ya see. Okay, I have
like 5 peple on one computer with each their own set up
page thing. I notice that if someone marks a page to put
on 'their' start up page {an icon} it goes to everyone's
start up page{personal setting} and if someone deletes
(trash can) an icon it takes it off everyones. (Okay,my
daughter threw away my games and it took my icon of them
off my page) I can still get to them through the program
listing.........but there should be a way to keep icons
without them going to everyone's page, is there a way? I
hope I've explained it well enough for someone to
understand. chuckle I could call my son but........ gotta
show him I can figure out some things myself. chuckle
It's our secret. thanks!!

Each user's desktop and start menu presents a composite view drawn from
different locations.
Desktop:
Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop
Documents and Settings\<user's account>\Desktop
Start Menu
....\All Users\Start Menu\
....\<user's account>\Start Menu
If an item is stored in All Users, it shows up on everyone's desktop or
start menu. Items stored under the user accounts are displayed only when
they are logged on.
So if someone deletes a desktop icon and it disappears from everyone's
account, it was from the All Users folders. For items you want to keep,
copy them from All Users to your folders.

Hi Pam -
In order to add your icons to your desktop only do the following:
1. Open your desktop profile ( C:\Documents and settings\{your
name}\Desktop )
2. Drag the icons from the program listing (Start Menu) into your
desktop profile folder
