My friend is using Outlook Express as her email reader. All of a sudden
she cannot open the URL's that come in a message to her. The ones that
are highlighted in purple, such as http://www.google.com.
It worked until recently. Do you know of anything that could have
changed in the last week or so?

See if the resolution in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base
article solves her problem:
KB823301 - Hyperlinks Do Not Work in Outlook Express or in Word
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?Product=winxp&scid=kb;en-us;823301
And for future reference, you will have a better chance of having
your Outlook Express questions answered by an OLEXP experts if
you post in the appropriate group:
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlooke xpress
If you read the newsgroups via Microsoft Communities Web Page:
http://communities.microsoft.com/newsgroups/messageList.asp?ICP=internetexplorer&sLCID=US&NewsGroup=microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie 6_outlookexpress&iPageNumber=1
If you read newsgroups using a NNTP newsreader, such as Outlook
Express, and use the msnews.microsoft.com news server:

Hi Carrie,
Thank you so much for answering my post. I will send the information on
to my friend.
I apologize for sending the question to this newsgroup. I thought I was
sending it to the Outlook Express group and I must have clicked this one
by accident. I only found it after I searched for my posting in the
Outlook group and it wasn't there so I went back and checked my email
and found I sent it to the wrong group.
Thanks for taking your time and helping me anyway.
