Windows XP hardware wizard keeps trying to install a new
printer (HP3820 Deskjet.) Unfortunately, the printer is
already installed properly and the wizard gives the
message "Cannot Install this Hardware." When I click on
the "Finish" button, XP detects new hardware and tries to
install and comes back to the same dialogue box. It does
not give "Back" or "Cancel" as options; they are greyed
out.
Can I disable the hardware detection wizard with
respect to this device? Of course, I cannot install
anything else right now because XP claims that an
installation is under way . . .
The owner of the machine is ready to delete XP and
go back to Windows ME
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
