I just upgraded from W98SE to XP(home). HP7350 (w/latest
drivers) installs fine and works ok until the computer is
shutdown. On the next restart I get an error msg. that
the printer is disconnected. Have uninstalled/reinstalled
printer/drivers about 10 times. All other USB devices work
ok. Could this be an IRQ conflict?

No, far more likely if you kept the printer connected during the upgrade
that you have corrupted drivers.
