I am getting a weird error on my computer. This computer
was loaded with windows xp about a week ago. It ran fine
for awhile then one day while rebooting, it came up and
gave me this error. it says:

Windows could not start because of the following ARC
firmware boot configuration problem:
did not properly generate ARC name for HAL and system
paths. Please check the windows documentation about arc
configuration options.

Would this be a problem with my windows install or my
hardware or what. Im really stumped on this one. please
help me so I can boot to my NEW computer. Thanks

Grim news from the Microsoft Knowledgebase.....

According to the articles... given that it *did* work, it may have been
caused by a virus.... were you running Anti-viral software?

Very good luck to you.
