How to set up MS-DOS game

well first there is no "dos" on nt based systems which xp
is one of.
There is a command emulator that functions like "dos".
start > run > cmd will give you the window.

Actually, DOS is an oxymoron, as it stands for Disk Operating System.
In earlier times all the files were installed in a DOS folder, but as
Windows progressed, all the files were absorbed into the Windows system.
The Dos folder no longer exists.
Almost all former Dos files can still be used in the command prompt root
directory.
