Clear DayHelp, I am pretty desperate to resolve the problem I am having with
screen freezes, and Mesh have been of no use whatsoever. The problem began
shortly after the PC had come back from repair from Mesh, there had been a
problem with faulty RAM which was replaced. Then the screen freezes
started, Mesh said that the problem could not be a hardware problem since
the PC would have been checked before leaving the warehouse. Fair enough I
thought. I was e-mailed a list of possible causes and tests I could try to
determine the causes of the tests, I have carried out of these tests, BUT I
have been unable to perform Scandisk. When I try to do this, I get an error
message telling me that the check utility needs exclusive access to some
Windows files which can only be started by restarting Windows, then a prompt
asking me to schedule the disk check when Windows restarts. When the
computer starts, I get a blue screen warning telling me that Windows cannot
open the volume for direct access. Does anyone have any ideas on how to
carry out the disk check or any ideas on how to stop these freezes?, the
screen freezes are not confined to any one program, you might get 10 mins or
perhaps 2 hours before there is a problem.

Any help greatly appreciated!!
