I have gotten this stop error once on an xp machine. XP pro, 2.2 intel -
gateway. It is not under warranty anymore. I run the chkdsk in windows
command console and it seems to work fine again. BUT, it it happened again.
I am assuming some piece of hardware is causing this. How can I tell which
it is? Everything seems to be working fine. are there utilities I can
download that will test hardware like memory perhaps? This machine is up to
date with all patches and service packs, and virus checker etc etc

Thanks in advance.

Hi, SheilA.

You forgot to tell us which Stop error it is. :>(

Please include the codes from the BSOD in your next post. We don't need the
"boilerplate" (If this is the first time...), but the exact hex codes,
driver names, etc., are important.

it says stop error then some numbers then a bunch of zeros that end in 34, I
think the 34 will tell you something. Thee is no error or message after
that like sometimes the stop errors will reveal.

Thanks
