windows xp won't load

Trying to load windows xp on a system which is currently
on windows 98 se, won't load, can someone tell me why, do
I have the wrong disc ?

What kind of XP disk have you got? Did you check your specs against the
system requirements needed to run XP? Are there any error messages? Have a
