Hi, Lee.
I don't know Digital Edge (they may be out of business), but I suspect the
key word is "serial". I never did get my beloved old Logitech C-7 serial
mouse working with WinXP so I bought a new PS/2 mouse for $10 or so. (Now
I've moved on to a Microsoft Cordless Desktop, but that's another story.)
Can you get an adapter to let your trackball plug into your PS/2 or USB
port?

AFAIK Windows XP doesn't support serial, and I've never seen a serial to USB
adapter (though I'm not saying they don't exist). I have a couple of serial
to PS/2 adapters but I was never successful in getting a serial pointing
device to work under XP - even with an adapter.

Serial to USB adapters do actually exist. They even come included
with some new laptops(Microns, anyway), now. BTW, my WinXP Pro
machine supports serial devices.

Well I've three here that refuse to recognise any serial device. Even Dad's
2000 box doesn't like them much!
