I use a Seagate "Travan40" 20/40gB streamer tape drive (Seagate STTM40) with
WindowsXP.

I am trying to get the Microsoft Backup program to work with this, but this
software will not recognize the above drive.

One the "back-up" screen there is a dropdown box at the bottom asking where
the backup should be sent, and three options are given.

1/ File
2/ MiniQIC
3/ Travan.

Only rhe "File" works and I need to know how to get the software to
recognize my tape drive.

Can anyone advise me how to do this? I have had the tape drive working with
the "Stomp Backup" software but this is difficult to use and I want to try
the Microsoft one, mainly for portability between computers.

Please help, Frank

Is the tape drive listed in Device Manager? Also, is it listed in the
Removable Storage section of Computer Management? If not, you need to
download a driver for it.
