I just purchased Windows XP Home version and I am wondering if I can install Windows 97
and Quicken 99 Basic. Not sure if these programs are compatible with Windows XP.

Hello
I am not aware of a Windows 97.....;)
But if it is Word 97, yes it will install and work just fine, be sure to
visit MS Office website and download the necessary updates.

Office 97 will work on a Windows XP system. There is no such thing as
"Windows 97". I'm not sure about Quicken 99 Basic, but just try it out and
see.

Quicken 2000 or later will work.. computational errors appear in earlier

Office/Word 97 will work on XP. The only issue there is, which there is a
workaround is the Spell Checker for OE.

Manual Edit:

Go to Start/Run/EXPAND X:\i386\CSAPI3T1.DL_ C:\CSAPI3T1.DLL (Where X is your
CD-Rom drive letter). And then copy it to: Program Files\Common
Files\Microsoft Shared\Proof

Or download the file here: Replace the Csapi3t1.dll file

An error occurred while the spelling was being checked.
