My computer went down today out of blue then I received a
page Saying something like "We apologize for inconvience,
start in Normal mode" but it would not start in any mode,
just kept returning to that screen. Hit DEL for set up and
clicked default setup, then got a screen during boot that
read at bottom disk error, click ctrl, alt, del to restart.
Did just that, and that is now the only screen I get???
Will not go any further than that same error/restart page,
in addition I do not have the win xp disk, so IS THERE ANY
WAY AT ALL TO FIX THIS????? !!!!!!!

It sounds like the computer isn't seeing the hard drive. It could be
something simple, like a loose cable, or it could the motherboard or maybe
the hard drive died.

Or it's possible that by going into the bios and using the default settings,
it's just not seeing the drive any more.

Your best bet at this point might be to have someone look at it for you, as
things like this are nearly impossible to diagnose over the internet,
especially if you're not that familiar with what you're doing.

Sounds like the system isn't reading the hard drive. Open the case and check
the cables on the hard drive to see that they are in place. If it still
won't boot, go into BIOS and set the floppy as the first boot device and try
a startup floppy. If it boots on the floppy then the trouble is in your hard
drive or the controller.
