visioneer 6100usb scanner won't work on XP

After a hard drive crash I can't get the Paperport
software to load onto the XP platform. Visioneer's
webpage says they have no intention of creating a driver
or software update to correct this problem. Although the
scanner is a low end system, it is only 2 years old.
I am looking for a back-door approach to loading the
software. I have been able to install several different
drivers without success.
Any help would be appreciated

If Visioneer says it will not provide a driver which is compatible with
Windows XP, there is not much you can do..

Have you tried the Windows 2000 driver?
