Thumnails for Folders

When I Change the Properties of my folders to display for example Music CD Cover Pictures these properties will remain as such. I Select Apply then OK when finnished. The Pictures display for mabe 200 or more folders. Then the properties that I had previou
sly changed randomly take on the properties of the current folder I'm working with or some other folder.
Is There a way to to stop this from happining? Please Help me I You Can.
