Occasionally it will "lose" printer spool/drivers and virus protection. A
reinstall of the above solves the situation. It never does this if I start
from cold.
I used the XP CD and did the sfc /scannow to make sure registry was intact,
it found no errors (I assume).
On reboot I get a brief black screen identical to that when one runs
"Start - Run - CMD" which never used to appear. I don't know if that has
anything to do with this.
