The link there goes to an "undefined" blank page, but the regular link I use
from Control Panel works fine. Weird! Way to correct??

Open Registry Editor and navigate to:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{2559a1f1-21d7-11d4-bdaf-00c04f60b9f0}]

Post the contents of this branch.

Sorry Ramesh, but there are entries under that PLUS - defaulticon,
inprocserver32, +instance and +shellex (latter with sub folders) what
content exactly do you want?

This pc, by the way, is driving me nuts. It makes up it's own mind every
day what will, or will not, work. My usual "remote assistance" friend is
away....aaaagh LOL

Great, I followed Kelly's advice now I can't even open the center....I get
nothing at all
