I have now installed a wireless b router on my computer
and wish to know why it is connected all the time when
beforehand my dsl was only connected when I chose to
connect...Did I do something wrong or is that the way it
has to be ??...Thanks and best to all ............Drew

As you've discovered the router handles your
password and user ID to your ISP (Email program
still handles its own password). So when the
router and modem have power they will connect to
your ISP and maintain a presence on the internet.
This way at which ever PC you connect to your LAN
all you need to do is start the web browser or
email program (not to mention any of the other
programs that automatically access the internet
antivirus program, etc).

Thanks...I feel kind of stupid for asking the question
and realized the answer 2 minutes after I posted...Next
time I will think about it a little more..........Drew
