Hi all, I have a small problem that I cannot solve.

I bought a new comp. with Win XP Pro on it and im the
only user so i dont bother with the log on screen. But
when Im using the computer it my account name
is "Administrator". So is there a way to change that name
to something else?? because i went into the Control Panel
and under user accounts i found Administrator but it wont
let me change its name.

Also another similar question. If I create a new
administrator account will that be the only account that
I can log on? Because on my old computer for my family I
created my own account and so did a few other people, but
the only way to see the account name "Administrator" is
if I booted in safe mode.

I hope you can understand this. If you have any questions
just ask. Thanks :)

Create a new account with admin rights. You will loose all of your desktop
settings plus some other personal preferences when doing this.

If you setup several new users or a single user with a password, at the
logon screen you can hit Ctrl-Alt-Del which brings up a classic (W2K) type
logon screen. From there you can remove the last user's name and type in
Administrator and the correct password (if any) and enter that profile. No
need to go into SAFE MODE with this procedure.

No that is the built in Administrator. You need to create a NEW
account for you to use. I suggest copying your files elsewhere so you
can get access to them ie outside c:\documents and settings and any
email etc.

Yes, sort of, it will be the only one visible on the logon screen.
The builtin Administrator will still be there but hidden.
