Assuming that your PC is relatively modern, it should be
capable of booting directly from a CDROM. However, to do
that you need to enter the BIOS setup and make the CDROM
the first boot device. The floppy should be the second
boot dvice, and the hard drive the third. If your C is
older (pre 1998 or so), it might not be bootable form a
CDROM, but it certainly can be booted form a floppy.
By the way, just copying some maxblast files to a floppy
may not make it bootable. Try the floppy in another PC to
verify that it is bootable. If it is not bootable, try
formating the floppy with the option to make a bootdisk
checked. Then copy the maxblast software to the floppy.
If it does not fit, copy it to a second floppy. Use the
first floppy to boot to A:\, switch floppies, then run
maxblast.
