scanner installation

I am trying to get the hardward compatible list so I can
install a One Touch 8100 Scanner from Visioneer. I have
the CD, the scanner is set up, but apparantly with
windows xp. the driver on the disc is not compatable with
the installation. There is supposed to be a list of
compatable hardware of this type, but it is hidden in the
beauracy of the people who hold the chips. Anyhow, I've
been playing with this for quite a while, so, if anyone
can help me, it would be very much appreciated. Thank

this new comuter was a Lexmark, which I consider not the
best, even though it had some real good points.

Go to the Visioneer website and see if they have updated drivers for
XP. If they don't you can always try the 2000 drivers; they often
work.

Of course you may have to just face the fact that not all legacy
hardware will work with XP.
