Search Function locks up computer

I can't use the Search tool in WinXP. Every time I
attempt to, it locks up my system. Anyone have any ideas?

Check the Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer for if
you can get further informations about the error here. You can also
try to solve this with the System File Checker. Type
SFC /scannow
at Start > Run and press ENTER.
