I have just installed XP Pro on my son's PC (clean install, not upgrade) and
there are two hard disks on it (WD 20Mb, identical models).
They are on the same IDE cable but in Device Manager the Master is reported
by XP as being in PIO mode and the Slave in DMA mode. I have installed the
latest Hyperion 4 in 1 VIa drivers. How can I 'force ' the Master to accept
DMA mode ? The whole PC runs as though its in mud, slow - no virii though
(anti-virus and firewall are installed).
Cheers,
Jerry
