MS Word is not included with Windows XP. It has to be purchased either as a
standalone product or part of an Office Suite:

Hi, Hannah.

As Will says, Word is a separate product, not a part of WinXP.

Many computer vendors "bundle" software with their computers to make them
easier to sell. My uncle's Dell, for example, came with WinXP Home Edition
installed, plus the Microsoft Works Suite, which included Microsoft Word.
He thinks ALL computers come with Word. But they don't!

For the very same reason that you do not have WordPerfect or Lotus Wordpro..
the computer vendor did not supply them..
