Desktop menu

When I right-click on a blank space on the desktop no
menu appears. This is a problem that has only developed
recently.
Would appreciate any ideas as to how this can be fixed?

Does the right-click work on other objects besides the desktop?

Yes R-click works OK in all other instances

OK. Don't really know then. Are you clean on viruses for sure? Have =
any trouble accessing any of the other control panels?
