You could delete the D drive using disk managment in
administrative tools but then you won't be able to use the
disk space. The best option would be to start fresh with a
new installation and delete the extra partition using the
Windows XP CD at startup so that you only have one
partition on which you install Windows XP. As far as
memory goes you no less memory than before. The memory
consists of the physical memory installed and less
important virtual memory which is the free space on your
hard drive. For Windows XP you should have at least 256 MB
of physical memory or ram installed. This should be
sufficient to for Windows XP to run ok but 512 MB is
better. This would not be expensive given the price of ram.
