Now and then my BIOS does not recognize that I have a CDRW attached to
my secondary slave. This has just started happening about two weeks
ago. Of course XP doesn't show it either. I have changed out
everything I can think of including the CDRW drive and also reversed the
slave/master connections on the secondary channel. The situation only
offers a problem when I want to burn a CD which is very seldom. I have
a suspicion it might be the power to CDRW but haven't been able to
change out the PS yet. Maybe the next rainy day.
Until I get it fixed, I would like to write a small script to be run at
XP startup to display a message that there is no CDRW available. Can
someone give me some hints about doing this?
Thank you.
