Monitor blanks out intermittently

With no consistency, our monitor blanks out for about 3-5
seconds. This can either be during an application or when
the system is idle. Any ideas?

Be sure that the connectors are firmly seated.

Is the refresh within limits of monitor capabilities? Try 75-80 Hz.

Test the monitor on another PC. If it blanks out there as well, then it
may be failing.
