ESS Audio drivers in Win XP

I have a Dell laptop that I upgraded to XP. The audio
device is ESS Maestro. After the upgrade the Sound and
Audio Devices Properties shows "no sound device".
However in the system properties it shows the drivers are
installed and working properly. Obviously I do not have
any sound.

I have upgraded to the latest S/W drivers for the devce
but still nothing.

Any help would be appreciated.
